    Louis Pasteur
    Created the first vaccines ever in history. He discovered these by working with chickens and found that he could not reinfect chickens with the same virus.

    Jospeh Lister
    Jospeh Lister created the first antiseptics for use in hospitals. Before him hospitals did not think it was neccary to wash hands. But, through his chemical solutions created a way to stop some infections in hospitals.

    Rudolf Emmerich/Oscar Low
    Them together created the first Antibiotic drug, Pyocyanase. They were also had advances in microbiology
  • Sir Alexander Flemming

    Sir Alexander Flemming
    Was the biologist who created the antibiotic penicilliun. He was also credited for the discovery of the enzyme lysozyme
  • Howard Florey and Ernst Chain

    Howard Florey and Ernst Chain
    Howard along with Ernst worked along with a number of different scientists like Sir. Alexander Flemming for the work on Penicillin
  • Gerhard Domagk

    Gerhard Domagk
    He is credited for the first commercially available drug Sulfonamidochrysoidine or Prontisil. As a result he recieved the nobel prize.

    Selsman Waksman
    He worked by watching organisms that lived in soil. Watching them decompose help lead to major discoveries of many major antibiotics. He discovered over 20 different antibiotics

    Lloyd Conover
    Was the inventor of Tetracycline. This was the first drug to be made by chemically altering a natural producing drug. He was inducted to the National Inventors hall of fame

    Streptococcus pneumoniae was the first organism resistant to penicillin during the time period, but was found on Austrilla. Another case the "bug" was found later in the United States

    SmithKline Beecham
    Is one of the largest pharmaceutical,biologics,and vaccine companies in the world. The company is now called GlaxoSmithKline after a merger of a bunch of different companies.
